Below are a list of readings that each have specific questions to ponder and journal about.  After you have completed the readings and the questions, we invite you to try one of the challenges.  Keep track of your progress and then use the link to post back about your experience either on the forum or in the comment section of the related blog post. As you LEARN, ACT and SHARE your experiences you will find growth and healing in the process. Be patient with yourself.  Move forward at the pace that you and your circumstances allow, but try to do a little everyday and you will find relief from the pain of your grief.

Today we will be discussing how Forgiveness helps us move forward through grief and loss. We identify 8 tools that have helped us in our uniques circumstances as we have worked to forgive others, God and even ourselves.

ACT: Questions to ponder and journal about:

1. How does the “power of self” affect your ability to forgive yourself and others?

Challenge: Watch your thoughts and the messages you tell yourself. Actively choose to not make judgements on yourself based on others actions.  Own your own decisions and consequences, but choose not to let other’s decisions determine your self-worth. Keep a journal while you are doing this exercise

ACT: Questions to ponder and journal about:

2. How can you use prayer to help you forgive?

Challenge: Reflect on this question and journal your thoughts.  Make a concerted effort to pray for the power to forgive.  Pray for those who have wronged you and ask to be able to have empathy for them.  After several weeks, journal about how praying has helped your effort to forgive.

3. Who or what do you need to forgive?

Challenge: Make a list of the things or people you need to forgive. Be honest.  Watch the addiction recovery videos.  What principles can you act on that will help you move forward on the path to forgiveness?  Pray for and desire help to forgive.  Write about your experience.
